Mary Ruth "Pinky" (Garland) Blevins

Mary Ruth “Pinky” Blevins, 48 of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, NC.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of Nancy Jones Garland and the late Richard “Bud” Garland.

          In addition to her mother, she is survived by her former husband, Edward Blevins; daughter, Ashley Blevins; son, Casey Blevins (Tannah); stepson, David Blevins (Paige); stepdaughter, Melissa Blevins Anderson; sister, Bonnie McCracken (Joel); brother Richard “Ricky” Garland.  She is also survived by her 3 special grandchildren, Greyson Viar, Rhyder Blevins, Jennsen Blevins and her bonus grandchildren, Hudson Blevins, Brystol Brendle, Walter Brendle, Jayden Anderson, and Noah Anderson.  A special mention to a dear loved one of Pinky’s, Nettie Blevins, these two ladies were not only sister-in-laws but best friends and partners in crime.

     All who knew Pinky, she was a woman whose heart was anchored in love for her family and friends.  She found her greatest joy in being a Mother and Mimi, and nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

       Her laughter, warmth, and caring spirit created a home where everyone felt welcome and loved.  She will be remembered for the way she showed up for the people she loved – with kindness, devotion, and an open heart.  Pinky had a gentle presence and a strong love that will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.

     Pinky devoted more than 20 years working at the Local Family Dollar Store.  She led a life so deeply rooted in the community it leaves a lasting imprint.  And Pinky’s memory will be carried forward in the hearts of those she helped and held closest.  She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Reverend Eric Sellers will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
