Claude Vincent Carpenter

Claude Vincent Carpenter, 90, of the Franks Creek Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late George H. and Maggie Stewart Carpenter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Myrtle Dockery Carpenter in 1991; daughter, Diane Buchanan; granddaughter, Kathy Carpenter; and sisters, Emma Jean Phillips, Laura Mae Phillips, and Martha Ann Reel.

          He is survived by his wife, Marie Hooper Carpenter; sons, Allan Carpenter (Shirley) of Aynor, SC, Randall Carpenter (Teresa) of Andrews, NC, Johnny Carpenter (Michelle), Keith Carpenter (Joanna) both of Griffin, GA; daughter, Claudine Jones (Gary) of Robbinsville, NC; step daughters, Martha Ann McGuire (Les) of Asheville, NC, Jenny Millsaps (Danny) of Robbinsville, NC, Wilma Suttles (Rad) of Maggie Valley, NC, Jackie Kron (Jay) of Robbinsville, NC; and brother Ozel Carpenter of Blairsville, GA.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.

          Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Daniel Stewart and Mike Teem will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Wiggins Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service.
